Since DOKA's (rip) thread got whacked, I figured I'd start a new one.

Braves avoid arbitration with Heyward. Got a 2-year deal in place until 2015.

You realize there isn't middle ground with arbitration right? They pick one of the two salaries.

yeah maybe we can avoid it with Freeman....Kimbrel I don't know. The guys on the MSB have said we should trade him. At first I thought they were crazy, but there's no way we'll be able to keep him, so we might as well try to get the farm system back in shape.

Heyward is the key cog IMO. After Heyward got injured last year our team really struggled with him out. His defense along with his ability to be patient at the plate is a big thing. Upton has amazing talent but after his hot streak for like 2 months he kinda fell off hard for a while.

I would trade Kimbrel and not think twice. $9 million is too much to spend on a reliever when you consider our financial situation.

Braves nation would implode. I don't think most fans can accept the fact that Kimbrel will never make it a full career in ATL just like McCann. It sucks to see them go but they are not things we can afford.

What a lot of people don't realize is we can survive without him especially with Venters and Alex Wood who with some work I think will be great!! Don't get me wrong I would hate to see him go but we can't pay people that kind of money Ted doesn't own the team anymore

They're close to a deal with Freeman according to Morosi.

especially with Venters

The problem is that no one really knows if Venters will be as good as he was considering that he's coming off of his second Tommy John.

I'll get shot for this but back in the day I was team Venters anyway and watching him get hurt has killed my spirit.
