Just had an argument with a guy who claimed Walther makes the best guns

No surprise he's German.
Made me think, what do you consider the best brand of guns overall?
IMO Springfield and Sig Sauer are the two that come to mind. Kimber as well.
Of course I'm a bit biased towards Springfield, since my first pistol was an XD9.

My first handgun was a Glock and all the subsequent ones have also been Glocks. In my opinion Glocks are the best, but that's all from my personal experience and experiences with friend's weapons at the range.
I'm sure there are some hardcore gun critics out there that may disagree, but for what I need and prefer, I'm happy as a clam.

I like S&W, Ruger, Kimber, Beretta and Springfield the best. Walther is a good gun though.

I'm not so much dissing Walther as much as I'm dissing this guy saying that Walther is above and beyond the best.

I'm a Beretta bigot. I like them and S & W wheel guns.
For long guns its Browning and Marlin.

Kimber and Springfield for handguns.
Browning and benelli for shotguns (I like Berettas but not as much. )
I know I'll get flack but the Remington 700 model is my favorite rifle. Browning X bolts are pretty awesome as well.

I have a Walther. I love it and it is the best feeling gun I have ever owned.
My next buy will be a Glock 19 though. Damn good gun and a there is a reason most law enforcement agencies across the country use Glock.

Walther is a fine firearms maker. But the best? All major manufacturers make high quality products, and picking the best is damn near impossible, imo.
