I thought malzahn should've run twice for it. they were up by 1, and fsu hadn't been able to move the ball out of the end zone all game.
I would've taken my chances there for the td.
if you don't make it and fsu scores there is likely enough time left on the clock for another shot.
I knew 4 points and 5 minutes left auburn wouldn't hold. course I didn't know 3 td's would be scored after that.
it was a great game, and i'm not criticizing. based on the way his D had played, this looked like the best odds to secure the win. if they don't make it, they hold and get great field position.

I started this thread on AU board.
Most say NM missed open WR.
I agree with you- run twice!

I agree but it's easy to say that now.
Of course if he did run it and didn't get it we would be talking about that today.

I feel the same way I did about Miles calling the bootleg against Clemson last year. The receiver was open, but you should do what you do best in that situation. Auburn is not a passing team, and Mettenberger was not a good passer outside of the pocket last year.
Run the ball.
Run the ball.

Coates was open, but it was a tough throw from NM back across his body.
Herbstreit commented that he thought NM got outside the pocket too quickly and overran the play a little.

Easy answer if Jernigan was in the game it's a good playcall. If Jernigan is gassed on the sideline you run the ball twice.

Nothing wrong with that play call. If Marshall makes what was an easy throw, he hits Coates for a TD and it's a whole other story.
But it's the microcosm of how this game went for us. Way too many blown opportunities. Props to FSU.
