And my hot water heater just quit

Good news is I have the HSA home warranty and we're hoping its not fixable to we can get a new one. It's 12 years old and that fricker is turned up to max heat just to get us normal hot water. Fingers crossed

I clicked on this thread thinking it was a prognosis for the forthcoming football season.

My water heater is about to die as well. I've been squeezing the last bit of life out that old fricker.

According to Al Gore you probably don't need a new water heater, what with global warming and all.

It's a water heater. You dont have to "heat" hot water.

I was expecting some sort of metaphorical meltdown thread regarding St.Richt and his crew of flunkies.

I stay away from metaphorical meltdowns. As bad as things are there's no reason to use symbolism. Tell it how it is

Going down to 3 degrees Tue. morning in Chattanooga.

Global warming? Go ask the global-warming research ship that got iced-in during the Anartic summertime last week.

By the way, the earth had more record lows than highs last year.

Thanks for your peek-a-boo climatology.

The vast majority of scientists with PhDs (>90%) will disagree with you though.

The fact the the average global temperatures are rising is an incontrovertible fact.

The question is whether it is natural or man-made. And the answer? Both.

I was under the impression that any temperature increases/decreases were cyclical. That and scientists are using weak data because beyond a few hundred years there isn't any recordings of temperature

They are. Global warming is a natural phenomenon, and so is global cooling.

But the big argument is how much are humans accelerating this increase?

We aren't entirely responsible, not even for most of it, but with a population of 7+ billion that likes to spit out greenhouse gases, we're certainly contributing.

Even the slightest increases of temperature would have severe consequences.

I can get on board with that, wanna say that's what I saw on one of the shows I actually bought. I think you gotta be right, it's cyclical and that humanity may not be the main force but they do play a part. But not to the degree that Gore and conspirators think but it also isn't bad to try and curtail emissions.

That all said, I'll be long dead before it ruins me.
