Franklin was really stinking it up last nite. he was off.

Mauk should have played the entire second half.

Mauk had OSU's defense on it heals. He was really the better QB last night. Pinkel probably should have played Mauk after the second turnover. But Pinkel being Pinkel, it is what it is.

Next year we'll all probably be saying Pinkel should be playing Hosick or Printz if Mauk chokes.....which by the way I don't see happening.

He was trying to give his senior qb an opportunity to pull it together in his final game. I think the idea was that he couldn't play much worse, so he's bound to put it together eventually. He never really did.

But I think most coaches would have done the same given the circumstances.

This is what I didn't get. Henry Josey's a good back. I understand it's a rotation but still.

Yep
gotta say Mauk looked good and should make y'all a contender next year. Probably favorites for the east for sure.

Ya know, you are probably right, but as a fan, it's frustrating as frick to watch a shite show continue. I like Franklin, but he has games where he is just awful on decision making and accuracy, and obviously, this was one of those games. Just glad it didn't backfire.

Honestly bad coaching. I get JF is a senior but there's 85 guys on that roster that work their arse off too. His job is to do whats best for the team and he didn't.

Thoughts? Missouri got lucky that Pinkel's misplaced loyalties didn't cost us the game.

What was striking in last night's game thread was how unanimous the casual SECranter's view was on the situation. To a man (or woman) the view was, "What the hell is Pinkel doing?". As Missouri fans we've becomed a bit steeled to Pinkel's bullheaded in-game decision making.

That said, HUGE win for the program and the restored order of SEC dominance.

there was much gnashing of teeth on the in game thread. It was unanimous that MM was the better QB and Josey was being underutilized.

BTW, Josey can cut on a dime. Oh, and he's fast too.

This had something to do with it. Franklin's a good QB, but dang his inaccuracy almost cost Missouri the game.

Mizzou lost because of Pinkel's QB management last night.

Franklin was by no means great last night, but the drops by his WRs climbed into the high teens. I know there are drops every game, but last night was laughable. Franklin can only hit his guys in the hands to many times.

Coaching staffs, unlike fans and commentators, look at things like that. They knew Fraknlin was not nearly as bad last night as his numbers showed.

Even the two fumbles were as much on the RBs as him. The botched hand off hit Josey in the middle of the chest at first, that's plenty deep enough. The fumbled pitch was a weird combination of things. First it was the right read, based off the read man. Second, it hit the RB in the hands. Third, the WR got blown up and pushed into the RB. Of course the QB needs to see that and keep the ball safe, but it was not completely his fault.

Don't discount OSU defense, it was good; but that was one of the worst games I've seen Franklin have. He almost gave the game to them. You just knew Pinkel was going to stick with his senior. Even when Mauk came in I knew Pinkel was just trying to shake Franklin up.
Don't have to worry about it next season. The Mauk Printz show should be very entertaining.

OSU has an extremely aggressive defense. I would love to see more SEC defenses adopt that style.
