FSU
Has the speed on defense to slow Auburn and with month to prepare will be in much better shape to slow that offense down.
Winston and Benjamin matchup needs to attack Auburn down field.
FSU running game has been so so but will be key to keep Auburn offense off field.
I don't think Winston will have the amount of time he's accustomed to because Auburn will bring pressure but he was able to handle it against both Clemson and Florida (whose D was as good or better than Auburn D). Fisher is good at attacking with the passing game and that goes against strength of Auburn D.

Auburn
They rode a tidal wave of momentum with UGA last second win, Bama end of game win and could not be stopped on turf of Georgia Dome. Rose Bowl will not be a fast track so Auburn might have benefitted from playing on a dome turf.
P and K give Auburn very good special teams that can affect field position.
Again, can the Auburn DB hold up against a strong aerial attack, I though Missouri would have been able to take more advantage of it than they did.
With a month for Auburn to come back down to earth I don't foresee them being able to rekindle all that emotion in a game like this.

PICK
FSU 42 Auburn 28

Auburn: We saw how Winston performed against a quality pass rush when they played Florida. Had Florida owned even a mediocre offense, the Criminoles might not be playing in Pasadena.

taking off my burnt orange and navy blue glasses:

Auburn will win. If you can hit winston he gets frustrated. The way the run is opening up for our offense the Noles will get confused. No way their D is more legit than Bama!

Auburn...

The running game won't miss a beat with time off. A deep passing attack on the other hand usually suffers. Winston hasn't faced much pressure this season, and I think AU's line will get after him early and often. I expect a lot of early blitzes to try and shake him.

Hmmm, I really dont know.

On one hand, Auburn's offense was clicking on all cylinders, and I think the month layoff will hurt them. FSU hasnt seen an offense like AU's, but FSU's defense might be better than Alabama's, and we held AU to 28 points offensively. FSU will more than likely score more than 28 points.

Winston seems like a man on a mission, but Auburn is a team of destiny this year. I can't really call it.

Florida State will not have Auburn outclassed. Their athletes are comparable. FSU will not be able to shut down Auburn's run, and Auburn is far more experienced and battle tested in tight games.

I agree with this.

FSU has mismatches against AU at every position and I don't think AU can play 4 qtrs. with FSU.

I also still think Bama's a better team than AU and think it would be a close game vs FSU and would come down to special teams at the end.

Yeah, I think it is very evident by now that Gus is able to keep the team focused.

Bowl games are always a crap shoot because of the long layoff.
