We had a playoff this year.

1) Fla St. Vs 4) Bama
Bama wins this game around 30-24

2) OH St. Vs 3) Aub or Mizzou
Auburn or Mizzou beat OH St. Around 45-20

Winning your conference counts for a lot. BCS rankings will not matter. It will be a committee.

I think if you don't win you conference or your division, you shouldn't be even looked at for being in the playoff

FSU v. Okie State
Ohio State v. Aub/Mizzou

Mizzou beat AU 25-24. AU out and UA in?

Also OSU having a big win over OU might jump due to CC emphasis of committee.

Honestly, I'd think the selection committee would have picked

Florida State
Ohio State
Auburn/Mizzou
Oklahoma State/Baylor

But that's just me

You're right but don't expect people here to admit it.

I wish the playoff was this year.

Bama would not be in the playoff...

the selection committee would not award a program that did not win their conference....

OkSU would get the nod this year to be in the 4 team playoff...

Once again, bama not only did not win the conference, they did not even win their division.

But as to the playoffs,is it 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3? One of the shows last nite had it 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, which makes no sense.

Actually no.

The playoff selection committee will not be using the same formula that is used to come up with BCS rankings. From the reports I've heard this morning, they will put far more weight into conference championships. Thus, if this 4 team playoff were in place now here is how things would look...

1. FSU
2. Ohio State
3. Auburn or Missouri
4. Oklahoma State/Stanford

You don't think the committee is just going to put the top 4 ranked teams in a play off do you?

I don't think everyone understands how screwed up things are about to get.

I think this has absolutely nothing to do with putting the top 4 teams in a playoff.

If the committee isnt interested in putting the 4 best teams in the playoff, we have big problems.

Hopefully they will put the 4 best teams in a playoff. Otherwise this playoff system is going to be garbage from the word go.

That's just it. They get to decide who's the best.

Not objective computers.

So reward the teams in the bad conferences. Brilliant.

Everything I've heard points to this committee putting far more weight on conference championships and strength of schedule than anything else. Basically they would not put in a team like Bama that did not win their conference or even their division over a team that did.

You're just now grasping this? The all-SEC championship game a couple years ago is why the playoff (with a committee, and NOT a formula, selecting the teams) was created.

You will NEVER see 2 SEC teams in the 4-team playoff. Maybe years down the road when they expand to 8 (all major conference champs and a couple wildcards), but not in the 4.

Teams in:
Fla St (if they take the ACC), top seed
B1G: Ohio St 2nd seed if they win, top seed if FSU slips. Michigan St 3rd if they win.
SEC: Auburn/Mizzou winner 3rd seed, 2nd if FSU or OSU loses. Top seed if both teams above them lose

Last team in: in this order- 11-1 Big 12 champ; 11-2 Pac 12 champ; 11-2 Duke (ACC champ).

13-0 Northern Illinois might sneak into 4th if FSU and OSU both go undefeated, and the Big 12 teams both lose. They MIGHT bump a 2-loss major conference champ.

Notre Dame will get in with 11-1, BYU with 12-0, in the future.

We won't see any Alabama's, Florida's, LSU's etc getting in after not winning the SEC. Won't make it out of committee. Argument will be plain and simple- had your chance, should have won your conference.

It's going to be a shite show and I blame all the morons that didn't understand that the BCS was working.
