Are these new fangled QB's really the GOAT's or just products of their systems?

Tebow was a once in a lifetime athlete before cam came along and made him look silly.
Then cam was once in a lifetime until JFF came along and ..... Well you get the picture.
It's less about great football players and more about finding guys that can run while serviceably throw a football and then pluging them into offenses that exploit their strengths and hide their weaknesses.
Tebow's legacy was built on being a bruising runner that had great leadership skills. Cam's was built on playing in an offense that gave him huge holes to run through with a veteran offensive line. Johnny's is built on being quick and nimble and receivers that can jump over buildings with a single bound to pull down his jump ball prayers he throws up after running around the backfield like a squirrel on crack.
It's becoming way too common to just be "the goat" every time there is a new one.

You gave enough of a shite to respond.

They're true, the things you say.

Product of their systems. Game managers will inherit the earth.

I wanted to see what you would respond with and you didn't disappoint. I would have used the same post myself.

I figured
But in all seriousness, I'll give cam that he was probably the best passer out of the 3 but even he had an offensive line that gave him a week to sit back there and wait for an opening in the defense.

Alternative thread idea:
What is it about LSU and Alabama's systems that results in them (to date) failing to produce a Heisman winning quarterback?
To that point, I think McCarron will probably win this year's Heisman because of Jameis Winston's legal troubles and Mariota's failure to beat Stanford. Pretty much comes down to McCarron and Mariota the next couple of weeks. I don't think the media is in love with JFF like last year and they'll be looking to give it to McCarron if he finishes well enough.
Also... does the OP qualify as a response thread?

Alabama and LSU are about team play. We rest our stars when they have done their jobs and don't pad their stats in garbage time. This also helps build future stars by giving younger players playing time early in their careers.
We out the team accomplishments before the singular look at me trophies

JFF is a better passer than Cam was. JFF is actually a very good passer, much more than "serviceable."
It is odd we've had 3 once-in-a-lifetime QB's just a few years apart. Part of it is the systems they ran, and part of it has been the move of putting athletic guys at QB at younger ages.

Like Dan Patrick says... Manziel is a system QB - his own system. He does things nobody else can.

And no, not a response thread. I made a post in that thread that I thought was all encompassing enough for It's own thread.

"system quarterback" is really the dumbest fricking label I've ever heard. Using it seriously just displays low football iq. What quarterback does not play in a "system?" Isn't your coach a complete idiot if he recruits and plays a quarterback that doesn't fit his "system?" Isn't he also a total idiot if he doesn't tinker with his "system" to maximize his strengths and minimize his weaknesses? This is just a continuation of the nonsense that the "pro style" offense is the only viable offense. People with brains should steer clear of this type of thinking

He gets bailed out a lot by ridiculous WR's. Especially his prayers he throws up that They have to do a jump ball to bring down.

I also heard Dan Patrick say that this morning.
He went on to say Favre was his own system and Peyton Manning was his own system.
