AJ McCarron has always been labeled a game manager but he has been instrumental in so many big games. Then everyone said that McCarron was only good last year because of his OL. This stat surprised me.

quote:

AJ McCarron threw all 4 of his touchdown passes when facing 5 or more pass rushers. All 5 of McCarron's touchdown passes this season have come against the blitz. Since the start of last season McCarron has thrown 17 touchdowns with 1 interception against five or more pass rushers.

v the Blitz (last night)

8-15
168 yards
11.2 YPA
4 TDs

No Blitz
12-14
166 yards
11.9 YPA
0 TDs

I think it shows his damn good ability to read defenses and look for the mismatch. It is really going to put pressure on opposing defenses if he keeps it up, which only make our run game that much better.

My only gripe with aj is he tends to lock on one receiver and not find an open man.

He completed passes to like 9 or 10 receivers yesterday.

This. He goes through his progressions well. All four of his TDs yesterday, and on top of that all five he's thrown this year, have been to different players.

Yesterday he was better for sure. Hell maybe I'm wrong. I just always watch his eyes and he's usually locked.

Looks to me like he is staring off defenders from where he really wants to go
