I know starters were missing but is there any concern from you guys? I liked the fire from Hall even though it got him ejected. Did Noel Ellis play any?

I am definitely concerned. The depth in the front 7 is lacking and I think we will be relying way too much on Ennis and Jenkins to bail us out

I'm concerned, but I'm not going to panic quite yet. We played a ton of true fish who have good talent, but had trouble communicating and getting lined up on D. With the noise at Kyle Field on Defense, it definitely makes it tough on the offense to get the snap timing right, but it can also mess with the defense if they are inexperienced and can't communicate effectively.

The suspensions definitely hurt, and when those guys get back it will be much better. But it's nice to get these young guys some experience right out of the gate, because we will be needing a lot of them as the season goes on. I'll be interested to see the adjustments we (hopefully) make this weekend agaisnt SHSU before Bama comes into town

A 3-man front is nice and all, but when you're running a 3-tech at nose, it's glaringly noticeable.

You'll see a BIG difference with Ennis in the lineup.

Maybe, maybe not. Claiborne looks liek the real deal. As long as he plays smarter, he'll be fine. All he needs is coaching. Let's get our starters back, and then I'll judge. I think our defense can hold that Alabama offense to under 35... and I think our offense is capable of scoring more than that against any team they play. Will they? I have no idea, but I believe they are capable.

I'm not gonna freak out too much until I see our defensive line at full strength get gashed.

Against Rice we had a three-tech tackle playing the nose, a true freshman playing the 3-tech, another true freshman who weighs about 230 playing rush end and a redshirt freshman playing the strongside. All that against the most veteran offensive line (starts wise) in the FBS.

Also, we were starting a true freshman converted WR at one of the corner spots and a backup JUCO at the other. You saw the immediate difference just one defense made when Everett was in the game (I don't think they scored a TD while he was in the game).
