This is a huge pickup. He's already the leader for Mr Football for SC's 2015 class. He's a top 3 guy for his position nationally and if he has some great camps this summer and does work next season, he could be ranked really high.
Having a huge recruit like that commit over a year out will really help build depth in the class and attract other successful players. This was Coach Sands biggest recruit "get" of his career.

While this is really great news, as I think he's going to be a stud... this gives us one less 2015 recruit already, than we have for 2014. I hope we get some more of the latter soon, though I know it's still early.

2014 is going to be a weird year for USC recruiting b/c of the tight numbers. Honestly if we wanted to keep everyone and only lose graduates we could only take about 5 recruits, then with early departures, the number goes up.

It would be, not quite the same, but similar to the Cliff Mathews, Eric Norwood, Melvin Ingram, Devin Taylor, JD Clowney, Chaz Sutton run we've been on ... and I still believe Darius English, Dixon, Harris, are all going to be exceptional. Plus we'll get the kid outta Hartsville.
Lawing thought he was going to steel Blackshear from us - I am really glad we got the early commit but we have to hang-on to him now and Feb 2015 is a long ways away.

Oh, I totally understand that. I'm just getting antsy for any football news... so when I click over to 247, to get a taste, and see everyone else getting kids and not us I gets a sad. I don't have a doubt that our class is going to fill up just fine.
