Why did UF and LSU staffs prepare better for Manziel than Saban?

Saban is supposedly preparing all summer for Manziel and Sumlin.
However, Saban had weeks of film on Manziel last year, but couldn't do what Muschamp did on the fly and what Chavis put together with fewer games ...
Which leads to one of the following conclusions, because
UF and LSU controlled Manziel. Saban couldn't ... :
1. Either UF and LSU staffs have something that Saban can't produce; or
2. All of this talk of months of Bama prep for Manziel is just so much wishful thinking, as Bama had more time than UF/LSU last year and couldn't do what UF/LSU did; or
3. Manziel is steadily improving, as shown against Bama, and the talk of a JFF Sophomore slump is yet more wishful thinking, not supported by his 2012 Season progression.
I'm leaning towards #3.

Because for a moment, Saban forgot how short he was and it clouded his judgement.

And Saban wasn't going to stop Tim Tebow after losing the 2008 SEC title game to Florida. Low and behold, the Gators are thrased the second time around.

saban screwed up and did not play containment. LSU's DE's contained jff and forced him to win with his arm. maybe bama didn't have the type of player that lsu and uf had.

Muschamp and Chavis are much taller than Saban.
They have a better perspective of the field and game, so they're able to make defensive adjustments better than Saban.

Or option four he is good, Saban had a poor game plan from the get go and was outcoached neither of which has any bearing on this year. He had a poor defensive game plan but adjusted, slowed him down but AJ had a terrible day in large part to a stout performance by aTm defense that improved as the year went on. I think our pass rush improve this season and we will be quicker on the edges which is why LSU and Florida had better luck against the aggies.

It'll be interesting to see how they play him this year.

Speed speed speed. Florida and LSU aren't necessarily known for a brute strength defense as much as a balls to the wall fast pace contain and intercept defense. The difference was defensive ends and a linebacker spy. LSU fricked Manziel all over the place with Mingo and Freak because the defensive backs shut em down. Alabama is just not built like those two. But that's why Alabama either plays the two close or wins altogether. Because while they have a fast defense that can contain Manziel, it's not necessarily suited to get bulldozed by said power running team Alabama. But goodness it's fun watching those 2 defenses against the spread. I honestly love watching LSU against the spread offense. They know the formula to beat it.

Saban didn't prepare for three turnovers by his offense?

Because Saban prepares better for National Championship games.
