There's still a road called Rankin Boulevard Extenstion, is that what you are talking about? There is a MLK too down by the mall

My nicknames:
Trey -- I'm a "III," so that one speaks for itself, I guess. Although my friends I used to hoop with as a kid called me that because I'd fill it up from 3 point land.
Dark Knight -- Batman's my favorite superhero, and my skin tone is dark as frick
Ghostrider -- Picked this one up at air force field training. After PT one humid morning, you could see sweat evaporating off my head and one of the officers thought it looked like ghostrider flames.
Eddie Money -- Playing basketball with the Corps of Cadets team at A&M. I got hot one scrimmage and the name stuck
Butterscotch -- Cuz my personality is a weird blend of black and white, so my Corps buddies called me that. Also, because I'm addicted to butterscotch flavored anything

Thunder
He was my favorite gladiator from American Gladiators (the original, not the shitty remake). It stuck until the Seattle Supersonics changed their mascot. Now if I say my name is Thunder, people assume I'm an OKC fan.

Same here, that was one of those cool mascots that actually goes with the city or state. Like the Minnesota Lakers or New Orleans Jazz.

Throw the Charlotte Hornets into that mix, too

You'd be Oreo to me Tbird
Nicknames
Buccwild, Buck - embodied my persona and attitude in HS, got it from the numerous breakfast and lunch freestyle cypher sessions and calling me "Buccwild style" then it shortened to "Buckwild" and it stuck
Tiny Tim - Great Aunt gave me this one actually the 1st time she saw me since I was preemie and it became a running joke since I kept getting bigger and bigger and she still calls me Tiny Tim (my name isn't Tim lol)
Oso - Got this one at the factory I worked at a few yrs ago from the Spanish workers since I am so big and Oso means bear in Spanish
Big Matt - probably most common and it's self explanatory

People have tried "oreo" and "coconut" with me, but only "butterscotch" seemed to stick
Also, left off my obvious nickname, "Tbird." This one really is only used by my fellow airmen, though, since at A&M I was one of many "Tbirds" (my Corps squadron was nicknamed the Thunderbirds).
Hell, Mrs. Tbird is a Tbird

I figured you would
I was the best at battling (used to also go all the time with friends to underground cypher a group of people in the 'Ham and we got together at different locations and it was a big cypher group. Met numerous people from this area really before they went on to bigger things and we would occasionally trip to ATL and I met people there to, some of the funniest though we're ppl who are famous rappers now like Gucci Mane and Gorilla Zoe and a few others who would get slaughtered battle rapping with a few of is who were really good at it, and my good friend Paul from Red Light District, John Woodlawn, a couple guys that prefer to stay underground but the scene here is amazing
