LSU's frats used to have South Sea Island Wkend back in the days, and can still see Pistol Pete strolling thru a home made lake with a bottle of whiskey in each hand. Each frat house was set up with a lake, palms, bands, all in one big area. But it stopped when a student drowned in one of the lakes. Another time one got electrocuted when a string of lites fell off a rope bridge & he was sitting in the lake, making out. No permanent damage but scared the crap out of the girl.

Not on Bacchus Sunday. Most other schools are leaving to go back by that time. Also, Tulane has a really small student body. I always see a good bit more LSU kids in uptown for mardi gras. Although, tulane kids dont really wear their school colors like LSU ones do.

I agree. I would bet there's more LSU students there than Tulane students. I usually meet a good amount of Ole Miss, Alabama, SMU, and Georgia students there too. Nothing beats MG

Pattys day is best non- big sec football game in Baton Rouge. Pretty legit parade party.

ETA: Mardi gras counts considering we get 3 days off and basically the Friday before too.

Saw the Hillbilly Bastards about a month ago, and don't remember a whole lot about it.
And to the poster above me that mentioned DT Athens, it's a fair point. There were a decent number of Georgia folks at Rodeo this year though.
