Not very good IMO. We were trending down.

13-1 and a national championship appearance one year and 3 losses including an embarrassing bowl game loss the next.

Things were not looking good for us.

I think a better question would have been, how worse off would Alabama be if Saban turned down their job and stayed at Miami?

I would say that Alabama would not have as many national championships.
