Title: Big Ten is set to stop scheduling any FCS games, hopefully everyone else follows suit

quote:

That is a great step, and hopefully other conferences (and by "other conferences" we mostly mean you, SEC) stop the practice of wasting a precious Saturday afternoon in the fall on FCS opponents.

Once other conferences start kicking out schools like CU or Kansas or half the big east/ACC we will stop scheduling FCS opponents

As much as I can tell the writer of this article hates the SEC, this is true. I mean seriously A&M, grow a pair.

We had less than a year to schedule 3 ooc games. SHSU was the only option on such short notice.

Yahoo sports is a joke. Every article they post is somehow worse than the ones before.

The Big Ten has to schedule better teams to pump up their sos because their conference is terrible.

When any of those Big 10 teams run through a gauntlet of games comparable to Florida, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, South Carolina and Texas A&M in one season, then they can talk.

They might as well be playing DII opponents with the likes of Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota and Illinois on their schedules.

We'll play DII teams, and they'll like every minute of it.

One game against an SEC opponent takes an FCS's football department out of the red for the year.

You'd think Tennessee would be rolling in dough, but we're too busy paying off coaches.

Why cut out big paydays for those schools? Those schools actually NEED those games.

Also why would the SEC follow ANYTHING the Big 10 is doing...

Depends on where we played them, but I'd say 2-2 this past season.

That is hilarious and I'm sure the article is terrible, but for arguments sake we are playing at Oregon next year and did in 2010 and played NCState last year ( I know not the same as Oregon) and starting around '04 have been playing at least one tough nonconference team (maybe not the last couple of years but in our defense we have been in a TOTAL MESS).

Bama has played Michigan and one other team the year before I believe.

LSU has played West Virginia and Oregon.

Ole Miss has played BYU and has a home and home with Texas

State is playing Oklahoma State next year. Georgia has played a few good nonconference opponents including Boise state

I could go on and on. Just fricking stupid

I'd be cool with never having to see LSU play a team like Towson ever again
