Bama fans, whats your take on the guy? He was the hot name in coaching at VCU (was even rumored to be top choice for UF if donnovan had gone to nba) but hasnt gotten it done yet at bama. Is it recruiting or is he not the coach we thought he was?

I think it is recruiting, he's making the best with what he's got, but it's not like Bama's a pipeline to the NBA. Most of our guys are from Alabama, except for a few international students. I like him, and I hope he's here for the long run. Just wish we could recruit better.

He is still in the wait and see mode for me: He better get the team playing better than that complete cluster frick of a 2nd half vs. Au or he's going to get the thumbs down.

No thanks.
I honestly don't know what the answer for either team is right now. Grant and Barbee are good coaches but patience is running thin at both schools.

Recruiting has been inconsistent but offensive coaching has been consistently bad for all 4 years

Random fact, but, most historians believed thumbs down during gladiatorial combat meant let the guy live, not kill him. Thumbs up mimicked stabbing a guy through his heart, thumbs down meant put your sword down.

Not to completely hi-jack, but what do ya'll think about the game tomorrow against LSU? For having a tuba player in our starting lineup, Jones has us playing damn good basketball with a great class on the way.

LOL no. They are good recruiters. Terrible, terrible coaches.

As it should. You can only fail to improve for so many years before the coach deserves to lose his job.

What, you got a foreigner whose been playing organized basketball for 12 months? Hell yeah I want him.

we fired MS in year 4 because nothing was moving in the right direction. I think we fired David Hobbs in year 4-5 because nothing was moving forward. With that said I see nothing moving forward in year four. I don't think he will be fired, but if another school comes calling he may want to take it. Cuz Year 5 is his hot seat year.
