How bad is it to you?

I've always liked telling it like it is, but it seems the bias has really gotten worse since Saban arrived.

Example: Liner gets destroyed by print media and sports talks shows around the state for weeks after his issues. Bama commit gets two rape charges and I bet you don't hear much about it at all after today.

It is bad.

I generally stray away from thinking like this, as I know my views on anything slightly negative about auburn are skewed, but ever since the Cam case, there is no doubt at how biased it is, and it really isn't even close.

Yea its going to be bias especially in Bham news. But honestly, I couldn't give two shits what the writers in Alabama have to say about our recruits. Does not affect me one bit.

Remember this about the rapist.

It was disappointing to see that Johnson's plight rallied a segment of fans to ask me if his offer should also be pulled. The blanket summary goes like this: If the kid going to Auburn needed to have his offer pulled for bad behavior, then the Alabama recruit deserves the same treatment.

First of all, shouldn't everyone's first thought be about an 18-year-old and his future? And if a crime was committed, about the victim too?

But to address the issue, Alabama, the state where football trumps all, still resides in the United States of America. The words "innocent until proven guilty" still matter.

For all intents, whatever commitment the Spanish Fort senior had to the Alabama program is now contingent on due process. Does that really need to be said? The legal system controls that offer. Nick Saban doesn't need to pull it.

If Johnson is cleared of all charges, then he gets his life back. And then football becomes possible and important again.

The vilest opinions argued that Alabama now has an issue recruiting young people of character. The rationale carried a chorus of "They're doing it, too" and "It's not just us." It would take the fire of a thousand suns to burn that way of thinking out of this state, but if it could be vanquished, we'd all be better off.

The delight in another's misfortune is what poisoned trees and forces recruits to go into hiding the first week of February while deciding to play for Alabama or Auburn.

Well it is obvious that recruits dont read or care about any bias. It is obvious with the classes we are pulling in.

AU isnt affected becuase the freshmen classes keep getting bigger every year.

The national media doesnt pick up on 90% of the shite slinging unless it is a major recruit.

So let the hacks from the UA journalism school keep filling up the Bham press rooms...thier shite slinging is useless.

When you have nation media like ESPN playing favorites and using bias you can only imagine how much worse the local media is going to be. The local media is intimidated by Saban and his rants.

They may not read or care about it but it does influence the people that influence them at a young age.

Bingo.. maybe we do that for a reason... hmmm what reason could that be?
1) Media bias in-state?
2) More talent out of state?

Probably a combo of both but more so the 2nd.

Not surprising...

Can't speak for the Finebaum talk show, but yes, one was deleted off the SECr and the other was moved to the SEC Recruiting Board where it was also anchored.

Kind of messed up, IYAM...

You worried about Alabama media bias? I'm worried about the SECRant.com bias. Why do they anchor the thread when an Alabama commit gets arrested, but don't anchor the Dee Liner arrest thread?

But to point this out is to be called "whiny" & "jealous" mixed with several "U MAD" gifs

The liner title also had caps. But does it really matter if the mods anchored it? Many others have been deleted.

Yes, it was an Alahunter type title...

Thought this media exchange was funny.

Pretty awesome. RT @RyanBrownWJOX: @JHokanson How awesome if (Updyke) skips the hearing and Dog the Bounty Hunter has to track him down?
