Found this little description of Neyland in my studies of SEC stadiums. Hope it brings some of that pride back for just a second.

"If we’re gonna’ have a 1960’s rumble between college football cathedrals, then Neyland Stadium is the 6’7 260 pound intimidator the SEC would bring to the fight. Could he be vulnerable to a shot in the gonads? Sure. But by God the little man who threw that cheapo better creep off ASAP. Because, even though Tennessee has experienced a few years looking up at the college football mountaintop, they still bolster the largest and proudest stadium in America’s best conference. Named after a badass Head Coach, General Robert Reese Neyland, this iconic landmark stadium remains the case study in building iconic landmark stadiums. An off-color orange, the “Rocky Top” fight-song, and a blameless traditional pride make this place a Coliseum of sorts. Few institutions—if any—can bolster a recommendation by the World Cup dudes to be a place to host the World Cup; few institutions will ever have 36 perfect home records; and no institution would ever proudly sport such a fashion faux pas orange. Fashion sense aside, Neyland Stadium remains one of the premier experiences in, not just the college football world, but in the stadium world at large. Do yourself a favor: travel to Knoxville, revel in the pageantry, and, for just a moment, admire those 100,000 dressed in orange for the hopeless die-hards that make the SEC so great."

I've been. It wasn't as good as Auburn, Bama, Florida, or LSU.

It was kind of a letdown for me (even when they were rolling in the 90's). Knoxville is a great place though.

From the 1960s? Must have been written by Nostradamus:

-Neyland's capacity was 46,390 at the beginning of the 60s and 64,429 at the end.

-Rocky top wasn't written until 1967, first played by UT in 1972.

-UT had 29 perfect home seasons in 1969. 7 since.

I'm amazed they were able to fit 29 seasons in just one year.

I would really like Neyland if I could sit down.
