Interesting tweets coming from AL.com's Jon Solomon. Good stuff.
Alabama had $124.5 million in revenue in 2011, up from $67.7 million in 2006.
The ACC's highest revenue maker (Florida State) made less money in 2011 than 9 SEC schools and 7 Big Ten schools.
Biggest % revenue jump may go to Miss. State, which went from $25.8 million to $59 million in 5 years. Still $65.5 million behind Bama.
SEC revenue increases since '06: MSU 129%, Ark 85%, AL 84%, Miss 67%, SC 61%, LSU 59%, AU 56%, FL 49%, Ky 49%, Ten 41%, GA 17%.
Georgia's donations dropped 5% from 2006 to 2011. Florida's donations increased 40% in that period
Why do some FSU folks want to join the Big 12? Total revenue in 2011: Florida $123.5 million, FSU $78.6 million.

You could double his salary and he'd still be underpaid relative to worth.

Wow.
UNLV has the largest subsidy of all, $32 million. More than half of all their expenses are subsidized.
Only 7 schools generate more revenue than expenses: LSU, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Purdue (????) and Texas. A&M just missed the cut.

I'd be willing to pay him 1000 dollars a year myself on top of his salary.

There's an article too.

The Alabama athletic department spent $105,068,152, received a $5,235,300 subsidy from the university and generated $124,498,616 in revenue, according to the report. The only two schools to generate more were Texas ($150,295,926) and Ohio State ($131,815,821).

I can never tell with all of the Alabama threads CFBandnumbers starts which ones are meant to be flames and which ones are genuine topics of interest.

I assume they're all flames and post something useful to create meaningful dialouge.

I think so too, but in this thread, I don't see the flame potential. It's not like it's Chizik making that much money.

There's always an angle. Or as he might would type.. their is allways an angel.

Nothing about this thread leads me to believe CFBFAN started it in an attempt to flame Alabama...
Looks like he started it to focus on how successful they've been under Saban from where they were in 2006, while also comparing it to other teams in other conferences.
That tells me Saban is definitely worth the paycheck he has.

Did you see where I welcomed you back the other day?
P.S. I'm going to start calling you T3 unless you object. Much easier to type.

Although I've rightfully earned my reputation as a flame thrower, this is definitely no flame thread. Bama has nearly doubled their revenue under Saban.
That's crazy.
