The 03 club did. Do you think the 2012 LSU club will be the same as 2011. Or better yet, is there any comparison whasoever between 2010 LSU and 2011 LSU?

this alabama lsu reference makes zero sense the first game was a hard fought battle that was won on a field goal in over time in which a lot of people still said bama was the better team on the field. auburn got shut out 23-0 irrelevant comparison is irrelevant
USC shutting down Auburn is 2003 is pretty much equal to Alabama shutting down LSU in the National Championship, no? The only difference between the 2 is that Auburn didn't get a chance to show that they were capable of keeping the game close or winning like LSU proved earlier in the season. Well, technically you can't say Auburn had proven that they could keep it close, but their play on the field in 2004 speaks for itself.

I officially give up. Have a good day TT, as a AU fan secondarily (distant but still...) WDE. And of course,
11/3/12 for order maintenance.

I understand what you're saying. But it wasn't AU fans who brought that rematch up in this thread, it was a dumbass ranter. There's no reason to compare the two games, AU was a completely different team in 04 than 03

While I don't think we would've definitely beat them, like you said, we could've gave them a hell of a game...

I'd agree with this if USC had beaten us soundly in 2004. However, since it wasn't during the same season, and Auburn was a completely different team in 2004, I can't agree.
During 2003, we gave up 16.3 PPG while scoring 26.3 PPG. In 2004, we gave up 11.3 PPG (and had the #1 defense in the nation) while scoring 32.1 PPG. The 2004 team was head and shoulders above the 2003 team. Thank goodness the voters look at SEC team as what they are now, the best in the country. We just dominated the SEC at the wrong time in history (2004).

I dont know why but these posts always make me laugh
And this is a rare thread indeed. I hate Bama winning 2 NCs in the last 3 yrs but, as my wife always reminds me, it is pretty cool that we can say the last 3 came from this state.

Agree 100%. We were supposed to be the hot team in 03. Dansby and Thomas were wrecking people. Cadillac was supposed to be doin work. We had all the pieces, but, not hte chemistry that year. The 04 team just hit on all cylinders every game it seemed.
