quote: Didn't think it was really that big of an opening. I mean big picture wise. Reply Back to Top |
quote:I am not an attorney but a class action suit for a $55,000 job? Reply Back to Top |
quote: getting passed over for a job because the douchebag doing the hiring gave the job to a chick he was banging is worth alot more the $55,000 Reply Back to Top |
quote: yea, there will be suits.... arkansas better have some good lawyers on retainer... im sure they do... but its going to just be a pain in the arse for a long time for tat school.. every time a position opens the hiring process is going to be under a microscope...... all because of that little prick and his little prick Reply Back to Top |
quote: The salary really wouldn't matter that much, but I also don't think there is going to be a class-action suit... Reply Back to Top |
quote:There might be lawsuits but I don't see this fitting the class action kind of deal. The woman had experience in the athletic department and an MBA. She was generally qualified for the position, I would think. So if you have a PhD and one of the other 159 had a GED, both were passed over. The PhD is going to join in the class with GED guy? Don't think so. Reply Back to Top |
| She makes some very good points but evidently doesn't see the larger picture. Sexual indiscretions within and outside the workplace have been going on ever since men and women have been on this planet. The Petrino-Dorrell fiasco just gets the spotlight at this time, but she make a good case for being overlooked for the job. Reply Back to Top |
| Employment lawyer here. Can't be a class action because the job ultimately could only be given to one person. For a judge to certify a class, there has to be a common outcome for the class. In this case, the common outcome would have to be that ALL of those other applicants did not get the job. Impossible to show. Reply Back to Top |
quote: This is why Petrino was fired. Had she not been hired he would likely still be there. They couldn't keep her due to lawsuits, and couldn't keep him because firing her and not firing him was another lawsuit. Ark fans are just about to realize how expensive this screwup by Petrino is going to be. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I was actually making reference in re: to her points re: "public/hiring perceptions" and reactions in general. And of course, any high profile situation is going to make people more aware and vigilant. I don't know much about the law in this situation, so it's always good to hear from someone who actually works within the field. Thanks. Reply Back to Top |
