Brandon Wells commits to Mississippi State Brandon Wells a WR/ATH from TINY Bogue Chitto, MS (a 1A school 10 miles south of my hometown of Brookhaven) has committed to Mississippi State. He is a 6'2" 180lb athlete who played wildcat QB. RB, WR, and Saftety this past season for his HS. He is the first EVER player from his HS to get a SEC offer in football. He is a 86 3star on 24/7 and the 12th best prospect in Mississippi according to that site. Looks like Ole Dan Merlins keeps on finding those diamonds in the rough (Jonathan Banks and LaDarious Perkins also are MSU players who played 1A HS ball) LINK Reply Back to Top
Did you mean to put this on the LSU RB? Reply Back to Top

Glad to know you guys care. It was a simple mistake. I was using my iphone and for some reason it has the link to SEC recruiting NOT at its same place on the computer version. Reply Back to Top

If he is a 3* and the 12th best prospect in the entire state according to 24/7, how does that make him a diamond in the rough? Reply Back to Top
Because is goes to a small 1A HS that most schools don't recrut due to the fact that it has NEVER produced any SEC football players. Also, Wells is shutting down recruiting so he wont be making any trips so he wont get any new offers and wont go to any camps so other schools wont be able to see him. My brother plays church league basketball with Wells' coach and he used to be an ast coach at Meridian, and he said Wells is as good of an athlte as some of the Athletes he coached at Meridian that signed and played at Ole Miss and State. quote: He played at East Webster, which is where my dad and all his side of the family went to school. I knew he'd be a good one even though the recruiting services didn't. Reply Back to Top
quote: Sounds like a pretty legit source. Your bro's church league team mate who used to assistant coach at a school, says this guy is better than the guys that signed with State and Ole Miss This post was edited on 4/4 at 1:47 pm Reply Back to Top |
My brother's church league teammate is the HEAD COACH at Bogue Chitto the school where this kid plays and he has coached him since 7th grade. SO, YEAH he is a legitimate source. Sorry I wasnt clearer in my other post. Reply Back to Top
That would make a little more sense. Merlin has signed alot of supposed "diamonds in the rough" these past few years since he's been there but I never really see any of them playing. That guy that caught that one TD in the bowl game and was supposed to be the next Randy Moss quit didnt he? Reply Back to Top
Carr was a 4 star who may have been in the top 250, IIRC. Reply Back to Top

quote: Yeah, when I was at North Delta we played them a couple times in the state championship. Weren't they from Hammond? Either way, back in the day, they were good. I have no clue about now, as I really don't give a shite Reply Back to Top Refresh |
