Sorry. Really not trying to troll at all. Good for UK if and I am sure when they win this thing. But their are better coaches. Nowhere near this level of talent though.

Pretty sure the last time Kansas won the title, they beat a Cal coached, Derrick Rose led, superior talented, Memphis team. Let's let the game play out

Look at UF's talent on D during those NCG's. That's the reason UF won the NC. Specifically in '08.

Cal coached was the key phrase there.

Yes, Cal coached the Memphis team that lost to an inferiorly talented Kansas team who had a better X's and O's coach. So you're thread title is debunked as of now. If KY wins tonight then its a push. Not sure where you are going with this? Just trolling KY fans, I guess? If so, carry on.

I'm never quick to give it all to talent over coaching, or vice versa. It takes a combination of the two for sure.
I think USCw may be a good case study for this arguement this season.

Cal is not a bad coach. He's not the best, but he's certainly a capable coach, and a hell of a motivator.

However, his Memphis team also beat down a more talented UCLA team with Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook, and Darren Collison in the Final Four that year.

It's asking too much to be the best X's and O's coach as well as the best recruiter in America. But if you are a pretty good X's and O's guy, the best recruiter, and great at managing a bunch of superstar 18 year olds, then you are an elite coach. Cal is elite.

Sure it does. The problem for the talented teams is that when times they get hard they tend to break down if their coach isn't a strong X and O coach who can scheme up some easy points on the fly.

That memphis team had nowhere near the talent this Kentucky team has. Sure they had Rose and he was head and shoulders above everyone else, but this Kentucky has the two most athletically talented kids that have college bball in a long time. MKG dunks more times than most guys lay it up. For crying out loud he dunks on guys, flat footed, that have 3 or more inches on him. Davis hasn't even scored and is having a greater impact on the game than Robinson of Kansas. Cal just has to coach not to let them eff it up.

He may not be the best gameday coach, but damn his recruiting is something else. I think he's a very good coach, but getting all that talent isn't all that bad.
