Just pretend like the Cotton Bowl tomorrow night is the Sugar Bowl. If the BCS wasn't a joke that is what the matchup would have/should have been.

I thought since LSU/Bama were both in the title game then a third team from the SEC could have been in the BCS?

Because they pulled a "Georgia" and couldn't beat a BIG 10 team last year.....1 year ban from a real bowl.

Negative ghost rider, only two teams per bcs conferences aloud. Maybe a change on the horizon.

Unfortunately not. Only way it can happen is if two non conference champions play in the title game and then the conference champion would go to the Sugar.

The requirement is NEITHER are the conference champ.

Example:

If UGA had won the SEC CG and LSU and Bama had remained 1 and 2...then, UGA would have been allowed to go to the Sugar as the 3rd SEC team.

the worst part is, even if bama hadn't got in the NC game, they still would've got the sugar and arky would be left out.

if arky wouldve beat lsu, arky and bama wouldve got bcs nods, and 11 and 1 lsu wouldve been in the cotton.

best thing for the bcs is to do the nc game, 1 vs 2, and let the other bowls pick for themselves.

If UGA had beaten LSU and the championship was still LSU/Bama, then UGA would have been in the Sugar Bowl.

Of course, then the National Title would've been between the SECs 2nd and 3rd ranked teams
