I know it goes against his way of running an offense, but wondering about the Auburn USCe game and how Auburn beat them this stat was brought to my attention....

12 carries against LSU -L
13 carries against UGA -L
13 carries against Bama-L

41 carries against USCe -WIN

This is a mystery to me. I know there were rumors swirling around Dyer but nothing ever came of them so whats up?

There are two problems withusing their running statistics in those games. They got behind early and their offensive line lost so much talent from last season.

The big question is why, in year three, does he not have a serviceable QB. When was the last time Alabama didn't have one? (Not counting 2003 because we were down to a third string QB that didn't participate in spring football)?

I agree with the OP.

How bad did the Alabama game really get prior to the pick 6?

We were getting annihilated on offense because we relied so much on the quarterbacks from the get go.

We should have ran the ball 25 times in the first half and at least 10 times with Dyer. Our defense gave us 6 points and our special teams gave us 6 points.

Maybe Alabama's defense would have shut us down completely, but there was never a chance in hell that Moseley would pick apart a Nick Saban secondary.

Anyone heard about Dyer transferring? I'm in alabama and have heard that AU fans shouldn't expect him to be at the barn next year

seems dumb to me... i figured he is good enough to be drafted after next season, so why sit out a year??

I'm pretty sure that rumor started on an Arkansas message board, so what do you think?

Apparently his ironbowl postgame quote started with, "If im back here next season"...

why would he say that?

They may not be true, but they were talking about it on the radio yesterday. 740 or 1410 around noonish.

Yes.

No it doesn't. It is just that his offense includes a lot of zone read type runs that we were not able to run due to the lack of an effective dual threat QB.

This is a mystery to me.
A mystery to many. There were several games where he didn't ride Dyer nearly enough. Even against LSU and Bama, it seemed that too many of the carries were too late in the game to have much significance.

Haven't heard that.

I have heard a baseless rumor started on an Arky message board and another rumor (don't know the source) that he may have to do some work academically this spring and summer to remain eligible.

He has essentially brought in 3.

Tyrik Rollison left school apparently due to academics and seeing the writing on the wall with Cam.

Cam - was great, but was so good he left a year early and put AU in a bind.

Frazier - true freshman who didn't get to go through spring drills.

Had Cam stayed one more year and Frazier been able to just red shirt and learn, we would be in a completely different situation at QB.

Yes, he should run the ball more...as long as it's not in the freaking Dyer-cat formation. Dumbest playcalling in the history of the world.

You should compare 1st half vs 2nd half against Clemson

I thought the OL would perform better this year. They didn't. They were bad... REALLY bad. The best guy on the line this year was a true freshman (which kind of gives me hope with plugging in two very highly rated redshirt freshmen next year).

I am absolutely AMAZED at the great year Dyer had behind that crappy line. Dude should be SEC Player of the Year accomplishing what he's done behind that crapfest. (Just kidding... kinda.)

Sounds like bullshite to me. But even IF true, Auburn would be fine at RB next year with the additions of Blakely and Yeldon.
