Seeing how every single day we have a JL vs. JJ thread on the Tiger Rant, I thought I would ask fans who have no dog in the fight.

If you had to play LSU tommorow, which QB would rather face? I am asking which one do you think your team would have an easier time beating? Also, can you tell me why you would rather face said QB.

ETA: A non bias opinion on the subject will be refreshing.

our defense usually gets burned by athletic QBs so i'd want to say JJ but he didn't do all that well vs us in 2009. sure, he is better, but i feel JL is a better passer. that being said i will stick with JJ as the better QB and i'd rather face JL because of match ups

other than UGA though i think LSU is better off with JL

Neither worries me too much. The Defense is what is scary. LSU would be dumb not to keep riding Lee however. Using JJ situationally is fine.

I see JL as the better QB but JJ is more like Garcia at USCe. If JJ is hot then he can do more damage.

JJ is damn good when he doesn't have to throw it much. JL is a lot calmer and more reliable, which all LSU needs against 99% of teams they face. Neither are great, but they're being used perfectly.

Overall, I would rather face Jefferson for 60 minutes, because he will turn it over a few times guaranteed.

JJ doesn't deserve to be on that team considering his poor leadership capability.

Why is this even a question since JL has taken your team this far?

Kinda hard to say. JJ supposedly improved a lot over the summer, but he hasn't played enough to tell if he's really improved. I think Lee has done a fine job up to this point. If I were a LSU fan, I'd picked Lee if I had to choose one or the other. I know JJ is a dual threat, but teams aren't having much success rushing against Bama. And I think you would want to limit the hits JJ would take anyway.

because the defense gives you the ball in good field position.

JJ and it isn't even close. JL is one of the better qb's in the entire SEC, he moves the ball, plays smart, etc. JJ has less pocket presence than a middle school QB, he leaves the pocket too easily, he has terrible mechanics, basically he blows.

The offense still has to put it in the end zone

Wouldn't surprise me. Not sure how that is relevant to either of the QBs being scary to face. Greg McElroy never scared me either, but he was successful.

Good point. Special teams as well... seems like 3 out of 4 possessions are short fields. (exaggeration: clarified for Bama statisticians )

So you are not scared of our offense that scores 38 pts/game because the defense gives them good field position?

To me that makes it sound like LSU is a complete team. Sounds to me you are scared of LSU as a whole.

your percentage of scoring is a lot higher from 40 yards than it is from 80 yards.
