| Alabama basketball recruiting Posted by Crede15 So...who are we recruiting this year? Will this thread get a single reply? All I know of is Willie Cauley LINK Bryant gave me a few names a while ago, but it was a while ago and I've forgotten and they might have gone elsewhere. I know we're not taking a big class (2 or 3) and its supposed to be big men and wings mostly. It would be nice to get our first commitment at some point. | I hope we get Willie Cauley. Reply Back to Top |
| I hope we can get Cauley, but I have a feeling we are in 3rd behind K-State and UK (assuming he has a legit offer from both). We really need a solid big in the 2012 class. Reply Back to Top |
| I for one am fired up about some Bama b ball. If Grant can put together another solid year of recruiting in, we will be in the fabled cat bird seat. Reply Back to Top |
| This is Bryant's job Reply Back to Top |

| Jaren Sina has decided to open things us, yeah Reply Back to Top |
| Sorry, I haven't checked the recruiting part in a day or two. I'd say our top four targets for 2012 are Willie Cauley, JaCorey Williams, Tyrone Haughton, and Devonta Pollard. Williams will be deciding in the next week or so, Cauley and Haughton will be early signees too I do believe, and Pollard will hold out until the spring. We got some pretty bad news when Sina decommitted, but he's still considering us and I know we'll keep recruiting him hard. Shannon Hale is still committed as of now. Jimmie Taylor may be our top target for 2013 and he has absolutely blown up within the last week according to rivals and ESPN. He had a great few days at the team USA stuff. His cousin is Erwin Dudley and he goes to a ton of our games so he's basically a lock to us IMO. I'll post more stuff when I get it. Hopefully we'll beat Arky out and get Williams. He was mad at us for slow playing him, but we made up a ton of ground once we made him a top target and offered him. Reply Back to Top |

| We're also showing interest in lots of other guards besides Sina in the 2013 class, especially Mostella from Decatur I think. I've been told we aren't pushing super hard yet because he needs to improve his grades. Georgia's staff feels that Mostella is too good not to recruit hard even if there's not a great chance he gets in. Probably another Lacey type scenario. It's definitely something to watch to see how hard we go after him. Reply Back to Top |

| No clue who Lewis is, Johnson we didn't want, I'm not so sure how hard we went after Sword. It doesn't look like we want a guard at all in this class. Taylor on the other hand, we really want. No chance he goes to MSU. I'd be completely shocked if that happened. Reply Back to Top |
quote: We shall see. Stans can recruit. He also got Hood and Ware to pick State over Bama and Pollard will be next. Reply Back to Top |
| There's a difference in being from Alabama and being a top target for Alabama, as well as Erwin Dudley's cousin. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I know we don't have much room to begin with. I guess it isn't surprising the coaches don't want any guards. We will have 5 (6 if you count Hankerson with the guards) this year that are either sophomores or freshmen. What are our chances with Cauley? I'm guessing not very good, but since Releford is also from Kansas, we probably have a decent shot. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
