Ed Orgeron Confirms Lane Kiffin Was Ready To Come To LSU
© Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports
Earlier this week we heard that before Lane Kiffin took the head coaching job at FAU, he was going to come to LSU to be the Tigers offensive coordinator. Over the weekend head coach Ed Orgeron confirmed it. Per The Advocate...
quote:

Orgeron revealed Friday what’s been reported since November: He was after then-Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin as his next offensive coordinator.

“We were looking at Lane Kiffin. He was going to come. He got a head (coaching) job,” Orgeron said.

Kiffin left Alabama in December and landed the head coaching gig at Florida Atlantic. The Advocate reported about Orgeron’s serious interest in Kiffin after the coach met with athletic director Joe Alleva during his interview for the long-term job Nov. 25. The two are close friends from their days as assistants at Southern California.

Why is this news. This all came about in December. It's no secret O wanted Kiffin. They're good friends. It didn't work out, and we got Canada. A win win situation. Move on please!

Hanky Panky Sanky would have banned him 4Life from being an SEC head coach one day if he left Bama for LSU. SCREW the SEC.

Saban wouldn't allow it, and Lane knows why. He was never coming here.

This is what made me not want Coach O most of all. Would have been a train wreck with those 2 back together. NCAA sanctions likely and Kiffin looking to jump for a HC job all along the way. Im feeling much better about O with Canada/Aranda.

U better get a bodyguard to follow u around acting all big and bad behind your keyboard. Why don't u go spew out that garbage to Coach O face to face. Yeah right!! Haha. We all know how that would turn out. He'd either whip your arse or just shake his head and laugh at u. Then who would look stupid? U, that's who!!

Hindsight 20/20, but what's the point of this coming out now? Does it make it awkward for Coach Canada?

Yep, I'll believe a guy that was basically let go before the NC game and a guy that barely speaks English.
