well, pretty sure my previous comments are now justified. 4.51 is not fast for a RB. So now he is just really big, and fast(for his size),,,, not just fast. He should have been at 225. Not 240. Again, to me, this shows a lack of maturity.

has anyone considered LF may be sabotaging his draft position he doesn't go to one of the early crappy teams?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this.

no way he should be at this weight for combine testing. 40, short shuttle and 3 cone will all be slower. To me, this shows a lack of maturity. Not being in tip top shape ? Portends poorly. Saying it now, Fournette will be an average NFL RB. Yes, he has size and speed. But no wiggle. Guice will be the better pro.

How do you know he's in bad shape? He may bulked up, but that doesn't mean he isn't training. These agents and trainers aren't going to allow themselves to lose money by not having him in shape. Besides he has a frame that he can play at that weight and be effective. I myself feel that 230 would be the best weight, but that's up to him and his trainers.

Maybe he's bulking up to play linebacker instead. Lol You know LF7 can play anywhere and be successful! He's a beast!

He's very tall for a RB. As long as he is in shape he should even more impressive at 240 with his frame.

IMO this is a good thing, especially after he proves to be the fastest back in the draft as well.

It's funny that you really believe this.

Overweight and on a bum ankle he clocked in at 22.9 mph on a run vs ole miss this year. Faster than anyone recorded with the ball in the NFL the past 2 years

Next fastest time was Xavier Rhodes (CB) at 22.4 on a pic six for the Vikings.

I know it was on sports science but I just don't believe that. OBJ had a few long runs that burned everyone. And not just OBJ but other super fast guys taking kickoffs and punts back for TDs, no way Fournette was faster than all of them

Yeah I tend to agree. But I will say i believe it was just one specific moment in his run, coming out of that burst/cut upfield. His full stride to the endzone wasn't holding near that. That burst was nasty... I could see that moment being as fast as player has moved recently.

Meh... That's one good BM away from being 235.

HOF'er Jerome Bettis 5'11" 251lbs Leonard will lose 3-5 lbs before he runs 4.47 40. Will destroy teams secondary

That's not good. He needs to be at or under 230..no higher.

Considering he played at 235 most of his career at LSU, and the 5 pounds is likely all water weight, he'll be just fine and blow people away when he does the 40 and shuttle.

He just can't help putting on muscle. In the end he probably could have been just as good of a linebacker

I'm very surprised at this. He definitely fluctuated between 225-240 at LSU. He was his best when he was lean. I can't imagine showing heavy part of the plan for he and his agent.

ploy to get drafted to a good team. the money is all in the second contract so why risk going to a crappy team. it's better to fall into the second half of the first round.

Although technically logical... Just no....

question is, did it look like he had that gut he had when he was hurt last year? And second, is he still too banged up to run his best 40 time?
user avatar

Agreed. Won't be a big deal if he runs fast. If he's slower than expected then who knows.
