The LSU Football program has received recruiting sanctions from the SEC after a recruit signed a financial aid agreement but then decommitted from LSU, according to Ross Dellenger with The Advocate:
quote:

LSU is banned from signing early enrollee recruits to financial aid agreements for the next two years, and the program will be stripped of 10 percent of its recruiting evaluation days in 2015, according to public records obtained by The Advocate:

The penalties, handed down by the Southeastern Conference and reported by the school Feb. 3, stem from a violation that occurred this fall involving an unnamed recruit.

The recruit signed a financial aid agreement with LSU intending to enroll early in January, but he decided not to enroll at the school. That makes at least some of LSU’s unlimited contact with the prospect illegal.
The recruit that is being mentioned in this article is Matt Womack from Mississippi who decommitted from LSU and ended up signing with Alabama.

The new SEC Commissioner has already been chosen by a five member panel of which two are bama grads. Steve Shaw... SEC head of officials...Bama grad. Mark Womack, SEC Exec Commish, Bama grad. At some point everyone has to see this as a cartel. Failing to do so would be uncivilized. How much longer does the coterie remain? Why the silence?

So a guy commits, decides to enroll early, takes steps to do so, changes his mind, and the school is penalized for losing a recruit? What kind of inbred Alabama bs is that? In a sane world, the kid would be penalized.

You're right. It makes NO SENSE. LSU can't know if it is calling too much. What's next, sexual harassment suit by a LGBT recruit for too much contact?

Welcome to the SEC in Birmingham Office/UofA satellite office. Alabama is truly the state of severe inbreeding!!! Maybe Saban's daughter can beat another woman up and put her in the hospital with no consequences. Cage fighting nation is recruiting her! Cmon man, wake up...nothing will change until the SEC Gestapo is moved to an unbiased environment.

Screw the SEC. They're not evening trying to hide the bias. Every year they do something to screw LSU over. For example, 2013 they break tradition to give Bama an easier schedule, 2014 the Valentine deal and now this.

So if we are guilty of illegal contact in trying to get Womack to stay then Bama has to also be guilty of illegal contact by recruiting him at the same time.

LSU should follow bama's precedent and file a law suit against the NCAA.

They will back off

Coaches should just ignore the sanctions, what is the sec gonna do about it. If they did, just threaten to change conferences.

Funny all of a sudden a guy that ended up at Bama is now national news. U wouldve thought LSU just got a committment from the # 1 CB in America and is in on two of his teammates and the big QB from up north is talking LSU. HUM which is worse this crap or the referees of last yrs game when the gumps were still alive. Makes u wonder no matter how objective u want to be. Or this payback for Steele?

Wow this has got to be getting to Les. Referrees inventing personal fouls and now this. Correct me if im wrong, but didnt Bama have a guy that played in 2-3 of their championship seasons that admitted to taking money from a booster?
Rules are rules but the penalty here is clearly biased. My word the kid didnt even come to LSU. One or the other wouldve been too much.

To add insult to injury, last year the "SEC" never ruled Travonte Valentine eligible but he was cleared by the NCAA. Strange right? Now this. Idk if y'all can what's happening here but I can. Smh

The SEC wants LSU to leave and they pull something unfair on us every chance that they get but LSU is still strong. If the NCAA would be scared of the SEC they would have done something before now.

The bottom line is that Les needs to step up and start initiating changes that take Bamas influence out of the SEC office. Nick is constantly initiating new rules and policies that cater to bama and the rest of the SEC has to be sick of it. Its past time to call these gumps out.

It's SEC sanctions. Not NCAA.

this is insane. they are claiming LSU should have been able to read his mind.

Tell Bama and their high commission, either take this back or LSU is leaving the SEC.

Join the Tex10 conference. they would love it. They are dying for a 12 team playoff conference.
