Former LSU linebacker Kendell Beckwith has officially signed his rookie contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who selected him in the third round of the NFL Draft. Per Buccaneers.com:
quote:

Beckwith (6-3, 247) was the final player selected in the third round, number 107 overall. He recorded 263 tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one interception, eight passes defended, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 44 games at LSU. Though he is still in the recovery process from a torn ACL suffered last November, Beckwith is expected to compete for the open spot at strongside linebacker and also offer the team depth at middle linebacker.

The Saints and the Ravens... two teams dealing with heavy mediocrity, why? Because neither team drafts or possesses an LSU player on their roster?

A 1st team All-SEC LB, whose first half loss to the ACL injury vs. Florida was the biggest reason for that LSU loss, could have gone to the Saints. The Saints, however, true to their past form, skipped over Beckwith to select Anzalone, who had more career injuries, missed more games and had an undistinguished career in Gainesville.

Not everyone that is from LOUISIANA is a NEW ORLEANS Saints fan or even a NFL fan! I get so sick of you Saints fans that say this anytime a LSU player in the NFL is brought up. Louisiana's football team is LSU and that is all we need!

I don't disagree, but what makes you think I'm a Saints fan? I simply observe an NFL team 70 miles away that could help itself in attendance and performance by simply recognizing, as other NFL teams already do, that LSU players are NFL ready. While they select very few Tigers, the few they've selected have more than distinguished themselves. And I think Beckwith will have a great deal more success than Anzalone. Time will tell though. However, as LSU continues to put out record numbers of NFL players, over 40 years the Saints have only selected 4 LSU players that weren't anything more than a reach- Hokie Gajan, Dalton Hilliard, Eric Martin and Devery Henderson. One per decade? The last selection was Devery Henderson 13 years ago.

Not sure why you're telling us what you played in high school. On a side note, I'm proud of Beck and think he'll be an easy starter with a great career.
