LSU fifth-year senior defensive lineman Frank Herron will make his return to the team for the Auburn game on October 14, according to head coach Ed Orgeron.

Herron has missed all three games this season for what is presumed to be an eligibility or suspension issue. Per The Advocate:
quote:

Herron's absence — presumed to be an eligibility/suspension issue — has been shrouded in secrecy, but it will soon end, Orgeron said.

"Frank Herron, in a couple of weeks, should be ready to go," the coach said Wednesday from his radio show at TJ Ribs restaurant in Baton Rouge.

He confirmed after the show that Herron will return against Auburn.

I'm glad he's coming back but we are definitely going to get gashed in that game.

I wish we could have him for the Florida game, but I'll take it anyway we can. This would be huge for us moving forward!

Multiple failed drug tests performed by the "SEC" is a 6 game suspension by the league. Failed drug tests administered by the school are different from the SEC administered ones. Its obvious what happened to Herron.

penalty seems pretty harsh if its a suspension.... dude is a 5th year senior, missing a lot of valuable snaps/field time for his draft tape.... i would just like to know what the infraction was to sorta explain/justify the length of time he's missed, especially when we've been so fricking thin at DT/DE

I believe LSU the school has an automatic 6 game suspension for failing drug test 2nd time. 5th year senior ought to know how to follow the rules
