Former LSU and current Atlanta Falcons linebacker Deion Jones was named to the 2016 NFL All-Rookie team this week. Per NOLA.com:
quote:

Jones, who had 108 tackles in the regular season, also had three interceptions, one of which he returned 90 yards for a touchdown against the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome. He also logged five tackles and an interception in the Falcons' playoff victory against Seattle.

Jones led LSU in tackles as a senior with 100, and added two picks, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He sat on the LSU bench for three seasons before becoming a starter as a senior and was a second-round draft pick by the Falcons, No. 52 overall, in 2016.

Another stud from LSU that the Saints (or should I say Sean Payton) passed on, only to watch a division rival make the pick and the guy destroys us for the next decade. But they'll take guys from schools like USC and Bama. Schools that have been producing more bums than studs as of late.

Exactly Mouche337. And let us not forget the Holy Grail for Payton: Ohio State! I think Payton must have grown up dreaming of playing for the Buckeyes, but wasn't offered a scholarship so he settled for Illinois instead. Either way, he's a yankee who has no interest in drafting players from LSU. To the detriment of the team, of course.

It couldnt happen to a better team! Now take it to the Aints board pleas because this has nothing to do with LSU or Jones!

I think the Saints have drafted 3 LSU players and 3 Bama players over the last 20 years. You're myth of Bama players not being good is silly. You should probably just look at the list of Pro-bowlers this year to see how wrong you are...

He sat on the bench for 3 years because Elmer Fudd Miles and Chief Of Nothing Chavis have no clue! Just like Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis passed over Debo, when the Saints clearly need playmakers at Linebacker. I'm no expert folks, but come on! It was clear to me from the start that anyone who can move from sideline to sideline and all points in between with Jones speed and tackling ability, is an asset to any team! Oh yeah, he has pretty good hands too, doesn't he Sean and Drew? Hate the Falcons, but they had enough sense to draft this guy, and correct me if I'm wrong: Aren't they in the NFC Championship game? Makes no sense! Congrats Deion! All Tigers Fans knew you had it in you. Just needed a chance to shine!

Why is everyone so upset! Clearly DJ Welter was better than both Debo & Kwon

Clearly DJ Welter over Debo. Really glad to have a Defensive coordinator that values/gets top notch linebackers.

I never EVER understood why Deion didn't see the field more at LSU. It seemed every time he was in the game all he did was make plays. Congrats Deion!

"He sat on the LSU bench for three seasons before becoming a starter as a senior and was a second-round draft pick by the Falcons, No. 52 overall, in 2016." Hail Chief John Chavis!
