Five-star Alabama commit Dylan Moses spoke with SECCountry.com this week and said that he would have signed with LSU over the Crimson Tide had Les Miles not been fired.

Moses, a Baton Rouge native, was very close with Miles and his family but ultimately decided that Alabama was where he wanted to be.

He gave his commitment to Nick Saban on Sunday.
quote:

“Oh yeah. No doubt. That would have been the school I would have went to if Les Miles was still there,” Moses said. “It’s a done deal (now). He’s gone. I still have a relationship with him, but I haven’t spoken to him since he was fired. I’m still going to keep a close connection with him.”

The Under Armour All-American also said that Alabama has always been a school he’s considered ever since he got offered by the Tide back in eighth grade, but again, he would not have been playing for Alabama if it wasn’t for Miles now being unemployed.

“I always told myself that if Les Miles was to ever leave LSU, Alabama would be my second choice,” Moses said. “That’s how it’s always been. When I got on that visit, it just reassured me that that was the place I wanted to be. What place would you rather be that than the place with the greatest college coach? For me, I had no choice but to go there. I love it there.”
The 6-2, 220-pound RB/LB prospect from Baton Rouge, LA has attended University High for the past three years but is currently attending IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL for his senior year.

Rather have Les gone than Dylan onboard.

What's good for LSU is not good for Moses. I am fine with that. I care more about LSU football than some highly sought after recruit.

Just maybe he should have seen how the rest of the year played out. Just sayin'.

Feleipe Franks and Moses both dropped their long standing commitments after the ALA loss last year. Then LSU dropped from #2 to un-ranked in 3 games and now just went from #5 to un-ranked in 4 games. Miles was a great recruiter and father figure to kids who are leaving home and a lot who never had stability in their lives. The last thing they want is uncertainty combined with an out-of-date offensive program that despite having #2 SEC talent has only won 50% of their division games in the last 3 yrs. Take off your P&G glasses and quit blaming the recruits.

"The IMG Academy star said he is going to start recruiting other players, but he’s not going to be open about his efforts. He said only after they commit to Alabama will he say he helped land that player for the Tide." Don't give him any more motivation.

If Dylan Moses believes in Miles so much, is he going to follow Les to Itta Bena? Or Slippery Rock?

I think this is all total bullshite. Some Bama booster went deep into his pocket and paid this kid top dollar to a) get a 5 star player LSU wanted and b) send the message that recruits are jumping ship now that their perennial punching bad coach has gone. Moses going out of his way to say this publicly only confirms that theory.

I'm okay with this. Moses clearly didn't love LSU, he loved a concept Miles provided.

All about attention. He'll get mine when he performs like a 5 star at the college level.

That is a cop-out andswer if I ever heard one. If he wanted to play at Bama just say that. We understand.

Coach Miles's poorly coached, ill-disciplined, slow-starting, penalty-making and no passing football teams were tolerated for years in Baton Rouge, Mr. Moses. LSU Tiger fans were at each other's throat over the issue, half of them saying "Miles is a moron" and the other half yelling at them "Miles is our best ever! Go pull for Saban!" Miles Ball wore out its welcome in Baton Rouge. Thank goodness it is over.

I suppose, Mr. Moses, that when you heard the Les Lovers yell "Go Pull for Saban" at the Nega Tigers, you thought that they were talking to YOU. NO. They were talking to ME, not you. You are free to change your mind and come play for LSU. :)

So he'd have committed to the team when it was worse off? Seems legit.
