Former LSU star Alex Bregman received an awesome standing ovation when he was introduced at Minute Maid Park before his 1st MLB at-bat on Monday night.

Bregman's father had the best reaction to the standing ovation:

Awesome, I met him and the rest of Alex's family in Frisco last month at the Rough Riders game right before Alex was promoted to AAA. The stadium was full of LSU fans and Alex received a loud ovation before every at bat. His dad told me that everywhere they go LSU is well represented and that going to LSU was the best thing that ever happened to Alex.

"He will be now but he's not even close to reaching his full potential probably won't until he's between 28 and 35." Baseball players peak from 27-29 and decline thereafter. Bregman is unlikely to get much bigger than he is now. The peak is when the mental catches up to the physical, the 27-29 range. Thereafter players' bodies start to decline and they are surviving on experience.

Well now the stros have two SS's on the field. Bregs just needs to get in the gym more and he's going to be an all around star. He will be now but he's not even close to reaching his full potential probably won't until he's between 28 and 35. He's got it on defense though. He will have to try much harder than most at the plate simply bc of his size. Apparently he has some power already with bat speed alone so he will come around and possibly sooner than I mentioned. Great for him and LSU! Kids want to be a star work hard come play for the Tigers and get ya spot. GT

That's a pure pride moment for dad. Very well deserved, I would be so wasted.

I said it even when Alex was a freshman at LSU, Ive always felt like he was born to be an Astros star. I always knew he would play for them.
