Umpires initially ruled this a catch, then reversed the call to a home run before reversing it yet again to an out. Either way is one of the greatest catches you'll ever see at the Junior League World Series or elsewhere...

Great catch, but I think the rule should be if you make the catch but touch the ground outside the fence then it should be a home run. If you make the catch then you should have to touch the field of play first for it to be an out.

Got to reward the player for making an outstanding catch. An out here is absolutely the correct call. If he had made this catch falling over a foul territory fence or into a dugout, they don't even debate it.

"If you make the catch then you should have to touch the field of play first for it to be an out." Is the fence not considered part of the field of play?

If you catch the ball, it should be an out.
