Nashville sports anchor Dan Phillips thought he would pay tribute to Prince with a sports report that quoted his lyrics throughout. What he didn't know is that he would would get fired for it shortly after. Check it out...

Here is his post after he firing...
quote:

First of all, I want to thank everyone for the kind words, comments and positive feedback on this tribute I did to Prince last week. It really means a lot.

Unfortunately, there were apparently some viewers, as well as management at the station, who did not feel the same way. They felt I was insensitive. And as a result, I was terminated today.

I'm choosing to use this as a catalyst for some exciting things I've been working on for some time now. I'll have many more details on this in coming days.
For now, thanks again for all of your support. And if you need an old, washed-up sports guy for anything, please let me know!
Poor guy.

How could they just leave him standing alone in a world that's so cold?

The gun (dying for you) is the only thing I saw or heard that might be mildly offensive other than that WTF. The guy could have got a "hey don't do that again" but fired God lord.

Insensitive? To who?

To the growing worthless pc nation, who go tugging at their mothers skirt, looking up with gooey eyes crying "The Horror" at anything they can't understand.

Is it insensitive because it dishonors Prince? I don't know what they find insensitive about it. I can't find any racism or prejudice.

I think Prince can appreciate this from heaven. And from my understanding he became a Christian. Prince is probably looking down and shaking his head and wondering why this guy got fired.

Corny but creative. Nothing to be fired over unless it was more going on behind the scenes.
