In mid-February, the search firm TurnkeyZRG circulated a confidential proposal that included seven divisions with 10 schools each, according to a copy obtained by ESPN, but it has failed to gain serious support.

Actually, if the SEC were to go to 20 teams, you could go to 2 divisions....one of which could be the first 10 SEC teams.

10 Game Schedule
Play your Pod (4)
Play another Pod (5)
Play your Perm (1)
Play all teams home & home every 6 years
Schedule would be balanced as well. 2 Pods form a division. Those 10 teams play each other.. the 10th game would be the only difference.

Good luck removing conferences & payments for that idea.

"SHOULD be"
But, if memory serves, that 80 team proposal puts Florida in a different group & brings in GT with 9 SEC teams.
*No answer if WLOCP will be an annual rivalry.

Let me say this as delicately as possisble.
frick YOU!
We are not going to destroy our storied rivalries to keep you dildo licking asswipes happy.
Texas has always been the big fish in a little pond, and you have destroyed every conference you touch.
In the SEC you are a little fish in a big lake. Get used to it.

frick you. You haven't played a game in the SEC.
You are a shitty poster from an even shittier school.
The Governor of Texas had to send in the National Guard on you America-hating scumbags this week.
You don't belong in our conference.

UGA would only have 1 OOC game to schedule each year because they play Tech every year.
What if your perm is in the division you play that year?

I’m on board.
Problem is what do you do
With the 15 teams in the old b8/SWC?
Do you cull five or add five?

Stfu you pussy. Tennessee are your new overlords and you will not only accept it but you will like it. We already slapped your asses down in the tourney. Thank your lucky stars you aren't on our upcoming football schedule.

Yes, that is the downside to having a 10 game schedule. This probably won't happen though..

Just playing devil's advocate but what if Bama is playing the division that the viles are in and Texas already has their 10 SEC games (div, other div and perm)?

Well the Perm's / Alt-Perm's would need to be adjusted. I made a mistake in the original I sent to you.. the Perm's need to be from 2 different pods.. so Texas could not have LSU & Alabama.
It's definitely doable though.. just have to find the right mix of teams..

This is actually the best plan I could ever think of. Seven semi-traditional divisions based on the old conferences back in the 1980s and early 1990s… and filling them out to 10 teams with the programs who have since joined the ranks of the Power leagues.
The SEC, Big 10, and PAC essentially go back to exactly how they looked in 1990:
SEC: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Miss St, Tennessee, Vanderbilt
BIG 10: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan St, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Wisconsin
PAC 10: Arizona, Arizona St, Cal, Oregon, Oregon St, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Washington, Washington St
The ACC goes back to how it looked in 1991 + South Carolina
ACC: Clemson, Duke, Florida St, Georgia Tech, Maryland, N Carolina, NC State, Virginia, Wake Forest, S Carolina
The Big East goes back to how it looked in the 1990s… minus Temple, and plus Penn State, Notre Dame, and UCF
Big Eastt: Boston College, Miami, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, W Virginia, Notre Dame, Penn State, UCF
The Big 8 goes back to its former self, but with BYU and Utah added to the West:
Big 8: Colorado, Iowa St, Kansas, Kansas St, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, BYU, Utah
And lastly the Southwest goes back to its old self… minus Rice, and adding Louisville and Cincinnati.
Southwest: Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Cincinnati, Louisville
This would be the best. Play all 9 teams in your league, plus 2-3 OOC games.
Figure out a 16 or 24-team playoff format to close out the season.
