Well yeah, Churchill Downs sucks. Keeneland Spring Meet is the real deal.

Dollywood is a national treasure as well.

I don’t understand this thread.

Derby includes the whole shebang. Thunder over Louisville, Pegasus Parade, Derby parties and scantily clad young ladies in the infield trading views of their bust for beads. Does Dollywood have that?

Exactly.

He's been at the KFC during the race thinking he's at the Derby.

I've been to both. Started drinking on Tyson's dime about 10:00am at the tent in turn 1. Awesome day. Watched Fusaichi Pegesus win the first time we attended.

Dollywood is Vegas for trailer trash. Gatlinburg is also garbage. How many t-shirts and corn cobb pipes can you possibly own?

If you haven’t been in a while I guess that idiotic take would make sense.

Dollywood has changed a ton since the silver dollar city and confederate railroad days. And Gatlinburg is moonshine and restaurants now.

Church hill downs on non Kentucky derby days is just depressing. Just another shady horse track.

Keeneland = DisneyWorld
Churchill = Six Flags
Red Mile = Dollywood

Gatlinburg is better than any thing in the state of Kentucky. People take vacations in Gatlinburg and buy cabins as vacation homes. No one is flooding to Kentucky to by time shares it cabins for retirement homes.

Gatlinburg has turned into trash since the fire. Pigeon Forge is much nicer these days.

Gatlinburg has gone the way of Branson these days and that’s not a good thing.

We generally stay off the strip and up in the mountains when we’ve used the fiancé’s parent’s timeshare (thankfully well off the strip).

Just got back from Asheville today and it was far more enjoyable.

Nah it’s true, for real. Derby is one weekend, Dollywood is year around much more beautiful year around. Besides, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area is nicer than anything Kentucky has to offer. Even Tennessee whiskey is better than that shite Kentucky bourbon.

Unfortunately for humanity, he is as dumb as he seems and this thread isn’t even in the top 10 examples of OP’s imbecility.

Not sure you compare the 2 but Dollywood was much better than I expected.
Haven't been to the Derby but hard to beat a day at the races regardless of where you are.
Heck, I like to go to Oaklawn just for the food!

Wut? It’s built back and more popular than ever. New attractions and restaurants are popping up ever season up there. The tunnel being down for a while last year sucked but it’s going strong again. Artisan row is doing better, there are more live concerts, more conventions up there than before.

Maybe you uncomfortable with the throngs of people that flood the area year round now. Before you could go January through June in the off season and just walk around a bit.
