LOL no. The play runs 2 hours and 45 minutes including a 15 minute intermission ( Wicked the musical). The book really sucked and people are not going to want to have to return for part II.

The book and the show share the following things:
Character names
General concept of Elphaba and Glinda having a hate/love/hate/love relationship.
General concept of the Wizard's motives.
And that's basically it. I've never seen a "based on a book" show be less "based on a book" than Wicked.
