Can anyone think of another schedule on par with this? I can't recall one.

Lmao
You wish y’all were in a place where Miami, Kentucky, Tenn, TAMU and FSU were winnable or should wins

I am in that place. Player for player none of these teams has a better overall roster than the Gators. Coaching will determine success. Hense, the reason for this thread.

This is the weirdest I have felt about a Gator football team in my lifetime. There is legitimately no energy from the fanbase.
Three straight losing seasons is crazy. In my life, prior to the last three seasons, we only had 2 losing seasons total.
But, in theory, we should be much better. We have a bunch of talented young players who got tons of experience last year, including 4 on the All SEC Freshman team. We had some solid contributors come in through the portal to shore up our defense.
Our offense wasn't atrocious last year, but was definitely mediocre. Tre Wilson might be the best offensive player we have had since Percy. The defense was historically bad though and has been on a terrible trajectory for half a decade now. I would say we couldn't get worse on defense, but I have said that three straight years and they have proved me wrong every time.
The biggest question mark to me though is idiotic coaching decisions. We lost one game last year because of a special teams blunder (Arkansas) and another game where we gave up a 4th and 17 (Missouri). Time management has been awful. We seemingly can't get 11 players on the field on special teams.
We have the personnel to win 7/8 games in my opinion, but Napier's shown an ability to shoot himself in the foot more than any coach I have ever seen.

Last year the Gators were an 8-4 team that found a way to end up 5-7. Coaching was the reason for at least 2 of the losses. Had Arky beat, can't get a field goal team on the field, had Missouri beat, can't stop a 4th and 17 and had FSU on the ropes until a terrible coaching decision to go for a 4th down changed the whole game. UF has top 5 or 6 most talent in the SEC, coaching is holding them back. Hopefully it gets better this year.

You don't see a difference in a out of conference schedule of Clemson, Tennessee Tech, UMass and Georgia Tech compared to Miami, Samford, UCF and FSU?

He is gone after this season. The only question is does he get to coach the full season or will he be cut loose after 2-3 losses.

Nah, not even close, unless we lose to Samford 49-0 or something.

They don’t
In fact there’s plenty of evidence that suggests the exact opposite

Well with the schedule UF has this season it just hard to see him doing enough to save his job.

It’s a stretch but it’s possible

I think if the team looks cohesive and not a complete organizational mess - 5-6 wins he'll keep his job - 7+ he will have a warmish not hot seat

You guys can just randomly buy season tickets after forfeiting them in 2017? Thats pretty awesome. I think we (LSU) fans get put on a waiting list at last checking.

He is in the same spot as LSU's basketball coach, so you tell me.
I would think Florida football has higher demands...
