S2E1: IX

Great intro to S2 with Captain Ned Low.

It always bugs me how they pronounce "lieutenant." LEFTenant? GTFO.

Flint showing Hamilton that society has just as much bloodlust as the pirates do was important. Society needs a bad guy to rally around destroying.

The scene where Silver and Flint escape is great. Flint telling Silver what to do with each of the Spaniards while they're both standing right there.
"That one has more scars, so he's the better fighter...shoot him."

S2E2: X

Billy! Man, what a way to torture/kill someone. Wrap them in leather and tie them on the beach in the sun, and continuously pour water on it so the sun shrinks the leather until is squeezes so hard your ribs crumble and puncture organs and shite. Yikes.

Silver trying to ingratiate himself back into the crew is awesome. Dudes essentially confessing to fricking goats and whatnot.

Man I forgot how annoying it was that Vane now grunt-whispers all of his lines. I forgot how bad that gets in S2.

Vane is such a great character though. He knows his value to the consortium, and that his name is being used abroad to strike fear into people refusing to do business.

Man, Low beheading Meeks in plain view in the most popular bar in Nassau. What an absolutely unhinged, psychotic lunatic. And man the SFX of Low's sword going through that dude's throat were pretty fricking realistic.

Flint's whole plan to retake his captaincy is great. He played Dufresne like a fiddle, and Dufresne is eventually smart enough to piece it together. But Flint's confidence did all the talking once shite started to go down and Dufresne couldn't handle the heat. I guess it takes more than biting some dude's throat off. And the best part was that it all went sideways on that ship when the captain realized that Dufresne wasn’t Flint and confronted him on it. In that moment Dufresne knew that he didn’t have Flint’s legitimacy and respect.

Man, Rackham is so awesome and hilarious. And it's funny how he really does care about Anne. "All I've ever wanted is for you to be happy. Please come back to bed once you're finished."

S2E3: XI

Love the scene where Low visits Vane in the fort and offers his tribute as a sign of respect and for Vane to stay out of his way. And even more awesome is that Low saw right through Vane and was no longer worried about him because he's basically controlled by his love for Eleanor.

But man, Vane is such a badass character though. "Mr. Holmes doesn't work here anymore."

Low is such an over-the-top caricature type of character. But it was cool having someone like him around. I wish he could've hung around longer, but I guess he didn't have he head for it.

"My trouble isn't that she knows how to play the thing between your legs better than I, but the one between your ears." Rackham spouting off gems left and right.

Oh look, Eleanor fricks Vane yet again. Proving that she makes some of the worst decisions in Nassau. I realize that she cares for him and is also using that to play him a bit at times, but it's still just bad business. I guess pussy really is undefeated though.

"Congrats, Jack. Now you know what it's like to rise from the grave." Love that Rackham is now back in good graces and can form his crew. And he finally gets his threesome. Go get em, tiger.

The whole Abigail Ashe thing is strange. So she's the daughter of a Carolina governor, and he has a reward of $250,000. But isn't the Urca gold worth like $5 million? If so, it seems odd that Vane is trying to play it against the gold.

And good on Flint and Hornigold for seeing through her bullshite and preparing to take back the fort themselves. And we leave E3 on the precipice of shite seriously about to go down. Pumped about the next three this week.

Just realized that Captain Flint and John Silver were from Treasue Island. Yet Vane, Hornigold and Anne are based on real pirates yet the timeline has been changed.

In a show full of badass moments, this was one of my favorites.

Sometimes I think I'm an old soul and that I was born in the wrong time, but then you find out stuff like this was real and I'm like "yea I guess just having a heated steering wheel and not cooled isn't too bad."

I don't know what else he was in so I wasn't sure how far off this was from his regular voice. It's gotta be pretty far off. It's like Littlefinger in GoT, his voice got deeper and deeper every season until he was basically Batman voice.

So my notes are basically the same as yours on these three episodes. I had typed out that Flint played Dufresne like a puppet. I think fiddle is probably the better way of putting it.

Not the time to lose one's head.

That's not a way to get ahead in life.

It's a shame he wasn't more headstrong.

Having a brain fart, does Vane know of the Urca gold at this point?
