all of this stuff about Petrino possibly being the HC once Sam leaves... I thought there wasn't a chance of that happening, and then I got a message from a friend.

Since evidently the Hunts and Waltons are beginning to help with FB nil, several believe that Petrino with a great NIL would do wonderful as a HC again. Takes out the "Vibrant" personality in his coaching

I still think it would possibly be a disaster with how kids can leave during portal openings for more $$$ etc.. but???

I received a message this weekend as well, that 10+ players are about to hit the portal soon. That can't be a positive for the program.

Si the Walton's are actually on board? I have zero inside knowledge but everything I've read says that they have very little to do with our athletics.

Petrino's second stint at Louisville was hamstrung by his inability to hire assistant coaches. He had his sons and son in laws making up the largest percentage of the staff. The rest were the usual suspects from his coaching career.

While NIL has decreased the importance of a coach's recruiting ability, the coach's actually ability to coach and develop guys for the next level is starting to increase. Sure these guys want to make as much money as possible in the three years they are in college, but they want to continue making money in the years after that.
