The only "good" NFL Notre Dame skill player I can think of in the last 15-20 years or so is Kyren Williams, and he's far from a proven commodity and playing in a RB-friendly NFL scheme (McVay). Notre Dame has really only a few mediocre TEs and that's it.

I just found it ironic that no Tx CFB team was in the top 10 for drafted players. Even though Tx is rich in players.
OU has already seen players come here that said it was due to moving to SEC.

Whats amazing is in addition to no Tx teams being listed in top 10 - no Nebraska either.

It would only be tu-Austin or A&M. Neither has sustained success long enough to make the list though I'm sure both came relatively close. A&M would make the list if it started in 2010. t.u-Austin had a huge dip in success when Aggie left for the SEC

that was exactly the point I was making so was confused by your post. You're not telling me anything I don't already know. Alabama will always recruit tx well regardless how we and a&m do...but there are plenty to go around. Before sark we weren't getting many of those and I can't blame them.

It’s actually a combination of things..
1) Mack Brown owned Texas recruiting.. he got most of who he wanted, but he also encouraged other in state kids to stay in state even if they didn’t pick Texas.
2) A&M’s move to the SEC
When Mack left in 2013, recruiting went back to the way it was before Mack. There was no in-state pride.. and the numbers were split across the country.
Some went to Ohio State, LSU, Alabama, USC, etc etc. It wasn’t just the SEC.
So while A&M’s move to the SEC definitely played a role for some kids, I think Mack leaving played a larger role.. even today, Texas is recruiting great, but it isn’t all Texas kids anymore..

Texas announcing their pending move to the SEC is what really helped with recruiting.
Not dissing Sark’s recruiting abilities, but the conference move is the biggest factor.

Tx has always recruited well. But bad coaching and culture meant top players were never developed.

That definitely helped with some kids.. but recruiting has never really been the problem at Texas..

No I agree that recruiting really hasn’t been a problem in Austin. It was the lack of player development.
However, Mack Brown got a bit lazy at the end, yet also benefitted from his recruits getting Bobby Burton’s special treatment, which only masked the problem. The recruits weren’t actually as great as Rivals said they were.

well yes and no. Skill players yes. We never had a shortage of those...but the last 2 coaches didn't put much emphasis on the lines and, as we all know, you win from the inside out. That's what's different about Sark.
Time will tell if he can win it all but, at the very least, we're in the best place we've been since butterteeth left.
