Spot on.
Long was a self-absorbed, antisocial twerp and sucked arse, but he ran a tight ship with few to no leaks (for the most part) when it came to coaching hires. Both Petrino and Bert (especially Bert) were out of left field.
Conversely, Hunter is a shallow, self-promoting dipshit who's all talk, so he naturally telegraphs every move and gets absolutely rinsed by candidates and their agents.

Theres N,S,E,W
Theres not many good coaches south of us.
So that leaves us North, East, and West.
1/3 chance or 33%
One could argue theres more good coaches East and West.

Hunter is obviously in phoenix where the final four is being held. Maybe that’s the “look west” clue. Our ad is just out west. That’s it.

Yep. Only three calls need to be made to make that hire so naturally we’ll try to hire the head coach at Tarleton State after their miracle run from a 4 seed to the Supers.
