I think Wonka's success derives from a total lack of new kids movies at the box office.
The movie is fine but it really helps when there is no competition.

absolutley this. the only other kids option at the closest theater to me is migration. We saw both of those movies before Christmas. When I checked yesterday to find something to do on Presidents day I was surprised either was still in theaters.
