4* RB Ousmane Kromah will also OV this weekend

This guy clearly a step up from Alvin Henderson? Rated just a tad higher looks like.

He’s good. Don’t think RB is the most essential component of a Freeze offense. And I’d still take Alvin, but that’s a whole other ordeal at this point

I am curious about this. He certainly didnt use them at Ole Miss like Auburn has used RBs....forever

He must’ve learned his lesson, because he definitely utilized the RBs at Liberty.

I think the critical part of what Janga was saying is that he’s used RBs differently. Not that he doesn’t use them.

He’s always used the position. And he had guys at Liberty that ran the ball successfully, even if none of them were really workhorses. At Liberty, he obviously had Malik Willis for three seasons so that’ll change how you approach the RB spot in general.

I think he likes a few options back there and a couple of them gotta block and catch. Just don’t think we’ll be in the market for a ton of high dollar RB1’s

Shekal Mills Knight is coming for an OV in a couple of weeks, six one or two, close to 220 lbs. I think I saw where he came from Canada a couple of years ago, plays for Baylor in Tenn. Been recruiting for a while.

JLee and crew think we might take him if he wants, then feel out Henderson and if not sure we take one of these speedsters, we have offered quite a few since Henderson committed to Penn State. Henderson is good, but he does not have breakaway speed, and he is not that big, lots of other girls at the dance at that position.

I just want one that wont run out for a pass in the flat while brushing right past a linebacker, with snot running out of his nose, headed a) to buy a newspaper or b) to make a bloody heap of your qb. Our guys dont seem to know the difference...I know, thats Thorne's fault too.

I don’t think we flip him. Uat way overpaid for him to give DeBoner a recruiting win over Freeze.

No clue if that is true or not but we need a body type like his in the room. 6’1” with speed and quicks.

Couple years ago can’t remember the season but Clemson’s passing game went stagnant because all they had was big bodied WRs that couldn’t take the top off or get open consistently. They were still decent on back shoulder and jump balls

I'd say Cain and Simmons fit that mold. Can never have too many of them though as your point about Clemson was definitely right. They had nobody that could operate in space. Would love to flip him. He is an absolute stud.

I'm not going to act like we couldn't use Derick Smith, but our recent WR wins make me place a higher premium on other positions at the moment. Not gonna sour grapes and act like we couldn't use him, but getting JuJu would be like killing two birds with one stone. I'm almost certain we get several elite WR if he jumps on board.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t like to flip him. I’m saying that uat paid more than what Freeze thinks he’s worth, because Smith was all Auburn until then. Freeze doesn’t seem to want to play the outbid game.

Agreed, we do have a ton of other needs still. Kind of one of those situations where hell yea if we get him, but if we don't, as long as we use those resources to shore up other needs, i'll live with it.

There’s no need to play the outbid game in May.

Just driving up the price you pay in Dec

Agree. He’ll outbid for some guys but it’s probably not Smith

Who is on the board?

Cunningham, CJ Wiley, Travis Smith, who else?

I know we can be selective and shoot for the stars with these guys, but who else are we looking at?

To be an elite offense you need an elite WR in every class and then another top 20 WR in every class. Then you can add a project guy along with them. Maybe find some intangible that some WR brings to the room. Just because we got Coleman and Thompson don’t mean shite. Of course it’s a good start but so was Davis and NCM in their class. Davis was great but got bounced off the team, NCM never fully got his explosiveness back after his high school injury.

Bottom line if you want to compete with the big dogs you better be willing to pay for top QBs, top WRs, top OTs, top DL, top edge rushers and top corners every year.

Safety, linebacker, running back, and interior OL grabs some really good players but you don’t have to break the bank on those since there are plenty to choose from very very few make huge differences across an entire season and if they do it’s mainly because what someone beside them or in front of them does to free them up

I would say all those would be takes if they wanted to commit. There are some others the staff are keeping an eye on. Someone will pop off this season that was behind someone else last season. This staff has been pretty good identifying WRs before they fully blow up.
