Wasn’t Kirby’s first coaching gig as a grad assistant at UGA? Nobody saw him coming and he’s turned out to be really good.
Granted Fisch doesn’t have playing experience but he appears to be taking a similar route.

Kirby was All-SEC in college and made it to an NFL camp as a player. Fisch played tennis instead of football in high school.
Those are not equal starting points.
