That’s exactly what we should do. Literally any concrete rules would work. It could be a single metric, it could be a combination. The key is that is consistency and transparency.

There should not be a human element dictating these things in the middle of the season. Narratives, money, and bias affect human decision making.

Look at the conferences, look at the NFL, look at high school. The rules are set before the season and there is never any controversy.

Nobody has an issue with Iowa being in the Big 10 championship game because THEMS THE RULES
